Painting of Twyn Bridge, Lower Ystrad Mynach by Welsh Artist Gwynfor Roberts

My first oil painting done in school during 1966 - I was 15 then. In those days I remember well that only a selection of pupils were allowed to paint in oils. I, along with two other lads had the chance and allowed to keep the painting.
It hung in my mothers front room for a number of years, that is until I got married and had it for my own home. During those years my mother had a print of Constable's 'Flatford Mill' in the front room and I recall admiring the painting. Maybe there is a connection there as to why I admire Constable's paintings and use them for inspiration.
Twyn bridge was near the old Graddfa School for boys' in Lower Ystrad Mynach. The stream is still there but the bridge shown has been filled-in and a large concrete cylinder takes the stream. The field in the background is that seen in the painting of Ystrad Mynach where I am looking down to where this bridge was.
