Harlech Castle, like Criccieth Castle commands a high position looking out to sea.
In fact, on a fine day both castles are visable to each other. I visited in August, the height of the tourist season and it was packed.
The castle is well worth a visit, a must if you are in the area and since Criccieth is just across the water, just as well visit the two.
