I live in Pengam Road which is on the left of this painting, sadly these meadows no longer exist. I was prompted into painting this scene as soon as I heard a major supermarket store was being built on these fields - the rest is history. The houses showing on the left are those of 'The Avenue', Ystrad Mynach and just visible in the distance is
Hengoed Viaduct.
