An appropriate time to introduce this painting since 2011 is the institutes centenary year.
I have just come along Commercial Street passing Saint David's church on our left,
and have reached High street which continues down past the shops and on to Victoria Road.
The first turning right takes us over the Rhymney river to my birth place of Tir-y-berth. Just on the corner opposite the institute was the cinema - I remember seeing films in there - which was demolished in the sixties.
