This is the South view of Bargoed station with the train due to leave for Cardiff. The road bridge/tunnel at the end of the platform replaces the bridge shown in the other painting of the station. Behind the viewer, the two tracks converge to a single line which takes every 1 in 4 trains North to Rhymney. And still in use today is Bargoed Viaduct, just 100 metres North of here. The towns High Street is on the right, over the road bridge
There are two train drivers having a chat, seems like a change-over of shifts since the train was there a while.
